A seasoned Communications professional with international experience across a variety of industries and challenges, Graeme Menzies was most recently responsible for the Vancouver Olympic’s (VANOC) Online Communications strategy and implementation, including social media sites and content on vancouver2010.com. During the 2010 Winter Olympic Games vancouver2010.com was one of the busiest websites in the world and provided information and messaging to 100M unique visitors (350M visits). The VANOC Facebook site was the first-ever Official Olympic Facebook presence and extended VANOC’s reach to over 1.1M fans, the Twitter channel engaged over 14K followers, the Official App was downloaded over 1M times, and video podcasts achieved chart-topping status in Canada. As a result of these advances and accomplishments, some have called the 2010 Games “the first social media Olympics”. Graeme was also responsible for VANOC’s official print publications – including the Official Program Guides, Spectator Guides, retail Books, the Olympic Village Newspaper, numerous Official Reports – and managed the integration and evolution of traditional print media with the electronic.
